Information the app collects and how

The app may collect planning prompts entered by the user; selected city, place, distance, timing, budget, crowd, setting, group, and vibe preferences; optional current location after the user taps Use current and grants device permission; saved plans and favorites; notification settings and device push token; and optional account information such as name, email address, provider identifier, and profile photo choice.

Prompts, planning preferences, and location choices are collected from in-app controls. Account information is received from the sign-in provider when the user chooses to sign in. Saved plans, favorites, the selected profile-photo URI, and the AI-sharing preference are stored on the device.

Location

Current location is optional. Weekend Wingman asks for location permission only after the user taps a current-location planning action. Users can plan by manually entering a city or place without granting location permission.

AI planning, providers, and consent

Weekend Wingman does not send an AI planning request until the user reviews an in-app disclosure that identifies Cerebras and OpenAI, lists the data to be shared, and taps Allow AI planning. Cerebras is normally used first. OpenAI may be used when Cerebras is unavailable or when a request needs additional safeguards. If the user chooses Not now or later turns AI planning off in Settings, the app sends no AI planner request.

After permission is granted, Weekend Wingman sends the following text through its Supabase-hosted planning service to Cerebras or OpenAI: the planning prompt; selected city or planning-area label; filters and preferences such as budget, time, crowd, setting, and group vibe; and compact Google Places or Ticketmaster listing facts such as names, venues or addresses, dates, times, available event prices, and tags. This data is used only to rank suitable options and generate the requested itinerary.

The AI request does not include the user's name, email address, account ID, saved plans, favorites, profile photo, listing images, or precise latitude/longitude coordinates.

Weekend Wingman sends store: false with the OpenAI Responses API request. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train or improve its models by default unless the API customer opts in, and that abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days unless a longer period is required by law or needed to protect its services or third parties. Users can report AI-generated plan content from inside the app. A report includes the selected reason and the generated plan title, summary, stop titles, and explanations. Reports do not include the user's prompt, precise location, name, email, account ID, or profile photo. Rennavation Studios uses reports to investigate harmful or inappropriate output and improve content filters and moderation.

Other planning providers

Selected location and search preferences may be sent through Weekend Wingman's backend to Google Places and Ticketmaster to retrieve nearby place and event results. Listing preview images and details come from the original provider when available. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Account and login

Users may sign in with supported identity providers and can sign out from Settings or from the side menu when signed in. Signed-in account metadata can be stored through Supabase Auth so profile and preference features can work. Provider API keys and OAuth secrets are not stored in the mobile app.

Notifications

The app may ask for notification permission on a supported device. No push token is created or saved unless device permission is granted. Users can disable notifications in the app or device settings.

How information is used

Information is used to search for relevant places and events, generate and display plans, save user choices, provide optional account and notification features, keep the service reliable and secure, and comply with legal obligations. Weekend Wingman does not sell personal information.

Service providers and protection

Weekend Wingman uses service providers including Supabase, Cerebras, OpenAI, Google Places, Ticketmaster, Expo, Apple, Google, and Meta/Facebook where the user chooses the related feature. These providers may process only the information needed for their service. Weekend Wingman requires service providers processing personal data on its behalf to protect that data with privacy and security safeguards that are the same as or equivalent to the protections described in this policy, subject to applicable law and contractual obligations.

Retention and user controls

Device-stored plans, favorites, profile-photo choices, notification settings, and AI-sharing permission remain until the user changes them, clears app data, deletes the app, or deletes the signed-in account where applicable. Account profile data remains until the account is deleted or retention is required by law. Service providers may retain operational or security logs according to their policies and contractual requirements.

Users can plan with a manual city instead of granting location permission, choose Not now for AI-provider sharing, turn AI planning off in Settings, disable notifications, sign out, and delete a signed-in account from Settings.

Data deletion

Signed-in users can initiate account deletion directly from Settings. Additional instructions are available at User Data Deletion Instructions.
